I'm a recent university graduate looking to pursue teaching as a career path, previously having worked as an English language assistant. I'm patient, easygoing and strive to be as approachable and understanding as possible. I have a passion for foreign languages, travelling and music: in my spare time you can usually find me walking in nature and listening to Estonian folk music!
I graduated from the University of Aberdeen with first-class honours and a distinction in spoken French. During my fourth year of university, I spent a semester living and working in France as an English language assistant shared between three schools, resulting in a much stronger grasp of the French language and a newfound love for teaching. I worked with pupils aged 2 through 15, comprising various different personalities and approaches to learning. I also have experience volunteering at a children's holiday club.
I aim to find the learning methods which work best for the student, meaning that they effectively retain and can recall what we have worked on together. In my work as a language assistant I often used songs, videos, physical movement and games to help my students learn efficiently. Being neurodivergent myself, I also take a neurodiversity-affirming approach to teaching and can adjust our learning techniques according to a student's specific needs.
