Having attended international schools while growing up in Hong Kong and Delhi has really made me appreciate that much more the power of unity the English language holds. I have always been extremely comfortable in meeting new people and the teaching English and French so far have been nothing but incredibly rewarding and enriching experiences.

Tutoring Experience

I passed the TESOL a few years ago which was an invaluable experience in training me into becoming an ESL teacher. Since obtaining the certificate, I have been teaching privately, with student ages ranging from primary school to senior citizens.

Tutoring Approach

My lessons usually follow a specific structure (divided into 3 parts) in order to maximise the student's progress. The first 10-15 minutes are usually dedicated to revision of previously learned material and general conversation. The following 30 minutes are the core of the lesson, consisting of the student's specific needs (be it homework, perhaps essay writing, or even general conversation/discussion, usually based on an article/text). The last part of the class (ranging between 10-20 minutes) is aimed at testing the students' knowledge on the material covered. Grammatical and vocabulary mistakes are taught throughout the lesson and depending on the students' need in explanation of these, the class's structure may change. The overall aim, however, stays the same, and this is to help the student as much as possible in their learning of the language!

I like to teach my classes in an informal manner, so as to make the students comfortable and confident in their writing and speaking.
