Nina

I am a graduate from King's College London. Having achieved MSc in Mental health study (first class degree) and BSc in Psychology (high 2.1), I have had great experience with statistics (SPSS), essay writing structure and the topics within psychology, which I am open to tutor for both, university and school level.

Additionally, I am a native Russian and Ukrainian speaker, therefore I am happy to practice your spoken Russian or Ukrainian!

I am happy to have an initial conversation with you to establish the areas you feel you need additional support with and collaboratively plan our work together. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring and assisting students with their school and university work for the last four years and it has significantly improved both, their understanding and their academic results.

I have volunteered in the local primary school as a maths tutor during my IB course, supporting children aged 7-10 with maths or teaching the advanced group more complicated topics than they do in class regularly.

Apart from the volunteering I have been helping out my peers with the school work, providing the support for them in the areas where my understanding of the subject was at a higher level.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that communication with the student is the most important aspect, so talking through the areas of the subject that are not easily understood is my starting point. Usually it is done through analogies and examples from the real world, to simplify concepts (where applicable). Finding an approach that sparks the interest in the student is the most important task for me, as with interest comes the understanding, so based on the conversation with the tutee the best approach will be agreed on.
