Music Tuition in Hampton

Hello! I am a guitarist and music producer offering fun and inspirational music lessons to people of all ages and abilities. I started playing guitar at the age of 7, recording my first professionally released song at the age of 16, and since then have continued to grow as a musician. In 2016 I was voted in the top 4 best guitarists in the world by readers of Prog Magazine. I continue to record and tour as a guitarist for A-list artists as well as doing masterclasses on guitar, composition and music production.

Lessons are available via Zoom or at my home studio in West London (after Covid restrictions are lifted).

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching professionally for over 20 years - guitar (classical, fingerstyle acoustic, electric, slide, jazz, blues), songwriting, and music production. Since 2013 I’ve been teaching a very popular course in Music Production and Sequencing at RHACC (Richmond and Hillcroft Adult Community College) in Richmond, London.

I am DBS checked and have experience teaching people of ages 7 to 80, from beginners to professionals.

Tutoring Approach

Regardless of your goal and guitar playing level, I aim to raise your musicianship skills in general. Besides guitar technique we will also look into
how rhythm works, pitch recognition, chords, chord progressions, music structure, dynamics and so on.

We start with outlining your individual goal.
For some players the guitar is just for simple old fashioned good fun.
For others, it is about preparing for music grades exams, learning a song or a solo.

If you are an advanced guitarist, the lessons can be focused on improving modern guitar techniques, styles, improvisation concepts and developing your own identity as a player.

I believe I have a very easy way of breaking down the challenges involved with any of the above.

I do not put my students in for graded exams myself, but if you or your child are aiming for that, then I have experience with the Associated Board and Rockschool syllabuses and would be happy to help.

I look forward to sharing my music knowledge with you. Learning the guitar can be fun and easy - drop me a line now if you are looking for a guitar tutor!
