Hi, I’m Nikki - a highly educated and empathetic tutor with a genuine passion for helping students grow in confidence and ability.
I moved to London when I was ten years old and had to adapt quickly to a brand-new education system. I wasn’t naturally top of the class - but with the right support, I turned things around. I went from struggling to thrive, eventually becoming Head Girl at my school, achieving straight As and A*s at GCSE and A-Level, and going on to earn three degrees: a BA from the University of Exeter, an MA from King’s College London, and a second MA in Journalism from City, University of London.
I know first-hand how life-changing a supportive tutor can be - I wouldn’t be where I am today without the encouragement and belief of the people who helped me along the way. That’s the approach I now bring to every one of my lessons.
Whether I’m teaching English to native speakers or supporting non-native learners, I create calm, engaging sessions tailored to the individual. I work with children and adults - helping with everything from grammar and writing skills to conversational English and homework help. My focus is always to build clarity, confidence and a sense of achievement - no matter your starting point.
My experience includes running hands-on after-school sessions with The Inventors for primary pupils, and leading my own club in school where I taught younger students about the world through storytelling and laughter. I bring that same energy into tutoring: sessions that are supportive, engaging and tailored to each learner.
Whether we’re building confidence with phonics, learning how to describe your day in English, or preparing for school exams, I always adapt my approach to the student’s needs. I like to make lessons feel calm, positive and practical - with plenty of real-world examples and encouragement along the way.
I’d love to help you or your child feel more confident using English - both inside and outside the classroom!
