Nicole

Hello! My name is Nicole and I am an experienced Social Sciences and Health and Social Care Teacher. My passion is originally Psychology, I completed my degree in this subject and worked in the area of psychology for quite a few years. Since I started teaching, my passion for psychology has spilled over into the world of sociology, which I love teaching as well.

Aside from teaching, in my spare time I do like throwing myself into my fitness and walking my little frenchie Royston.

Tutoring Experience

I have experiencing teaching the AQA specification for Psychology and Sociology. I am also an experienced examiner for AQA Sociology.

In terms of Health and Social Care, I teach the level three BTEC National qualification and also the BTEC Tech Award for level 2 students (year 10 and 11).

As well as teaching, I have experiencing tutoring in all three subjects and do so on a regular basis with my students.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is to identify what the student is struggling with in terms of content or skills and then we can put a plan in place for what will work best for that particular student. I do not have specific methods or ways of teaching, I feel like the best method is to figure out how the student feels comfortable learning.

A levels can be extremely overwhelming and challenging and I feel it is important for my students to feel at ease with me, be able to have a bit of a chat about what they’re struggling with and why and then take the best course of action.

I have all the resources needed to teach any section of the courses I have specified, whether they need textbooks, revision guides and exam papers or whether they work better with quizzes and activities, we will find a way to get them that A level.

I work hard in tailoring my teaching to every individual student and if they are willing to put as much work in as I am, then they will do great.
