Tutoring Experience

10 years teaching experience in UK universities, secondary schools, colleges and abroad.

Having taught IFY and Pre-Masters level in Universities (Sheffield, Liverpool, Salford) over the last few years , I decided that giving 1-1 tuition was very much necessary for those students who lack the confidence and time to progress at a fast pace.

I teach classes and practice in academic essay writing, reading and research skills, presentation delivery and speaking skills and understanding academic lectures.

Other than University academic skills, I have also taught IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation classes, as well as general English.

My students are generally looking for support with University International Foundation Year, IELTS/Cambridge exams or General English speaking classes to improve accent and pronunciation.

I have experience teaching adults and children from from different backgrounds, such as China, the Middle East, Africa, South America and Europe.

Tutoring Approach

• Fun and interactive lessons, with lots of encouragement.
• Lessons are organised with clear aims/objectives, and a core activity with feedback and optional homework.
• Typical lessons could be: • writing thesis statements • how to synthesis arguments • help with referencing • proofreading (together) • essay structure • evaluating sources • improving pronunciation and fluency • reading for main ideas
