A Birmingham native with a passion for history and geography. I have a Bachelors degree in History as well as two Masters degrees in Conflict Studies and Renaissance, Reformation and Early Modern Studies. I have also completed a geography subject knowledge course to allow me to teach GCSE and keep up to date with all relevant trends in education. Currently teaching in an inner city secondary school in Birmingham. When possible I enjoy travelling and volunteering at Birmingham Museum. I have a love of classic literature as well as modern day fiction. Working in a school has shown me the importance of literacy standards and the struggle faced by many pupils.
I have been teaching History, English and Geogrpahy for six years at key stage 3 and 4. Prior to this, I was a school LRC manager with whole school literacy responsibility. I liased with the English department and ran numerous literacy schemes with all secondary year groups. I have now been tutoring for over a year across all key stages (one to five).
My approach is flexible and empathetic. I look at the subject from the perspective of the student and their abilities then I adapt accordingly. This way each tutee will get a personalised approach to the subject. I encourage creativity and foster a love of learning.
