I am a fully qualified, experienced chemistry teacher, with over thirty years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have worked in primary and secondary schools, as both a teacher and classroom assistant. I worked as a tutor for two years before moving to this area.
I taught chemistry and science at London Comprehensive schools for ten years. During this time I taught chemistry to A level and sciences to GCSE. I also wrote assessments, devised courses and monitored the work done by other schools. I then worked in a primary school for four years, primarily as a teaching assistant with KS1, but also as a supply teacher when needed. I ran library sessions for KS1 and introduced and ran maths problem-solving sessions for KS2.
I worked as a tutor in Bromley for two years, and taught a range of subjects including maths and science at KS3, maths and English at KS2, and preparing students for entrance examinations.
I have also successfully helped a mature student to pass the Life in the UK Test.
My approach to tutoring is primarily to build confidence, as a confident student can successfully apply knowledge and strategies to new situations, and is unafraid to attempt to solve or answer more challenging questions.
