Throughout the years i have had accumulated over 5 years of experience as a tutor, mentor and sports leader teaching various age groups maths, science and taekwondo.
From my experience, working with various age groups i know how important it is for lessons to be engaging, comfortable and positive to allow students to ask questions. I believe a discussion-based teaching approach builds students confidence and ultimately makes students enjoy learning in order to ensure maximised learning outcomes.

Tutoring Experience

I have based my career in education for over ten years and in that time, I have taught all ages from Year 1 to university students and I have held various school leadership positions. I am very knowledgeable of the Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum and well equipped to prepare students for exams (SATs and 11+) and the secondary transition. Whilst working at a university, I was able to support students who required additional support in their lectures due to medical needs. My duties would include attending lectures with them and creating original educational resources that would be beneficial for their studies.

Tutoring Approach

My lessons are carefully planned to include small steps that make abstract learning objectives achievable. Each of my lessons will be tailored to the needs of the student and I will do regular, informal (nothing stressful!) assessments to check for gaps and misconceptions.

As part of the learning process, I aim to build my students’ motivation and encourage them to feel confident to take risks and challenge themselves through a patient, friendly and professional approach.

I have very much appreciated that my clients and their families and have described me as a reliable, friendly and hard working tutor.
