My name is Natalie and I am an experienced primary school teacher, currently working three days a week in a Surrey primary school. I achieved Qualified Teacher Status after studying for a BA in Primary Education at The University of Winchester.
One of the most important qualities of a teacher is to be creative and innovative. I believe that children learn better when they are excited and engaged and I am always looking for ways to bring the curriculum to life. I am committed to inspiring and motivating my pupils. Successful teaching is empowering children to move their learning on and enabling them to acknowledge this for themselves.
I have been teaching in a junior school in Surrey for the past nine years and have taught a variety of age groups and abilities, including children with additional needs. As I have recent experience teaching in a primary school, I am aware of the latest terminology and methods used in schools in maths and English, so you can be assured that your child will be taught in line with the current national curriculum.
I believe in perfection before progression and ensuring a secure understanding of the basics before moving onto more difficult concepts. My teaching style incorporates hands-on learning and real life examples to motivate the child and make more abstract concepts more tangible. My approach is always calm, encouraging and positive.
