Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching RS in London schools and colleges for the best part of 20 years. In recent years, I have specialised in teaching RS and Philosophy A level, as well as becoming an examiner. Alongside my teaching role, I work part time as an inspector.

Tutoring Approach

I approach all students in the same way, that is with warmth and enthusiasm. I believe all learners can achieve when barriers to learning are broken down and they are supported in the right way. In my experience, teaching skills, alongside content is essential to success. Using past paper questions and focusing on exam technique helps to focus the mind and ensure all learning is relevant. Linear A levels demand that extensive knowledge is committed to the long term memory, so interleaved practice is key to retaining information and applying it in the right way. I am passionate about my subject and that is transmitted when working with learners. If something is interesting then it becomes more accessible.
