I have a degree in Biomedical science and a Masters in Science education both of which I studied at King's College University.
I love working with young people and allowing them to see their potential. I'm passionate about helping students realise that despite the fact that they may find science challenging at times, by putting their mind to it they will surely be successful.
I believe education is key to making a change in this world that we live in and that science plays a crucial part and always will. I therefore love to share this passion with young people.
I have been a Science Teacher for 15 years, I have been head of Biology for 4 years and I am currently the KS5 Science Co-ordinator.
I have worked with an intervention company during holidays to help students with their gcse revision.
Additionally, I have also worked with revision companies, teaching pupils about the techniques they need to use to be successful in the exams.
This experience and being a classroom teacher has made me a very effective private tutor.
I focus on clarity in my explanations, modelling answers and allowing my pupils to think independently with guidance. I do a lot of exam practice as this is key in applying the knowledge you have gained.
When mistakes have been made I promote reflection without giving the solution immediately to allow my students to identify their mistakes, giving them an opportunity to rectify it.
