Molly

I am a Sociology Teacher working in the East Midlands. I have a degree from the University of Leicester in Sociology and a PGCE in Social Sciences.

Tutoring Experience

I am in my third year of teacher after teacher training and I have been teaching A-Level Sociology for my entire teaching career and I have recently introduced the GCSE Sociology into my school and I have taken my current year 11s through this. I have had two year groups go through exams and I am a year 12 form tutor so I have experience in mentoring. I am also an aqa sociology exam marker and I have experience in marking exam papers and gained the right knowledge in order to do so and apply to my teaching.

Tutoring Approach

I take a more personal approach to teaching and focus on using the students own knowledge and experiences to help them understand new content. My current focus is knowing and remembering more and focusing on recall of knowledge. I looked at the science behind knowledge recall and the inspect that can have on a students learning. I also like to focus on different learning styles and try to cater for all learning styles whether they are visual learners or prefer reading or a multi media approach.
