I am a doctorate student writing up my PhD during lockdown. I consider myself a wannabe researcher, part-time teacher and full-time learner. I remember at primary school saying I wanted to be a mathematician scientist not fully understanding what it was but many, many years later here I am doing lots and lots of science and maths and loving it!
Besides learning about and teaching science, I like to play and watch sport (cricket, tennis, football), experiment in the kitchen, paint and draw.. and just being outdoors.

Tutoring Experience

As mentioned before, I have been teaching informally since I was 12. I've been formally teaching since 2015 onwards with 3 reputed tutoring agencies in Bath as well as undergrad students at the University of Bath. This includes bioscience and maths workshops, practical experiments and final year research students. As an alumni of Cambridge University, I have helped and mentored students with their applications to top universities in the UK. I also have some experience teaching children with learning difficulties.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach always starts with asking the student what style they are comfortable with learning and I adapt to their needs. Ultimately, it is their investment and they should dictate what is best for their learning. After initial lessons I feel they could do with a change, I advise them on what options they have. Most students I teach prefer me teaching and writing their notes so they can focus on the concepts. As we progress I incooperate past paper exams and a quick revision 'round' where I ask them to actively recall previous lesson's contents.
