For GCSE: I can teach and tutor:
As an Assistant Headteacher since 2019 and a former Lead Practitioner of Science and Head of Chemistry, I bring a wealth of educational experience to my tutoring. My expertise includes working with students who have dyslexia, dyspraxia, SEN/EAL, and autism. Keeping pace with the latest educational trends, I have adeptly adapted to the A*-G to 9-1 grading transition in AQA and Edexcel, ensuring my teaching methods and materials are current and effective.
I excel in strategising and planning personalised learning approaches, ensuring success for each student. My online tutoring methodology is refined and highly effective, a testament to the success of my students who have embraced this mode of learning. I'm proud to consistently deliver outstanding lessons, validated by lesson observations available upon request.
My track record speaks for itself: impressive results in GCSE sciences, with a significant number of my students achieving top grades. This success extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by my private tutoring outcomes, where students have surpassed expectations and achieved high grades, often exceeding their predicted results.
Join me for a tutoring experience that not only imparts knowledge but also builds exam skills and confidence, ensuring your child is well-prepared to excel. Let's achieve the grades you aim for!
In my tutoring sessions, I employ a comprehensive and targeted approach to ensure each student's success. Key elements include:
For 1-to-1 sessions, priced at £40 each, you'll receive personalized instruction that includes:
- Content Tailoring: Lessons are customised to your specific exam board requirements.
- In-depth Exam Preparation: Techniques for interpreting and answering exam questions are a focal point.
- Walking Talking Mock: Before exams, I offer a comprehensive 2-hour session. We'll review the entire specification through exam questions and model answers, utilising the diverse strategies developed in our previous sessions.
I utilise exam questions as a tool to measure learning progress, enabling me to create a Personalised Learning Checklist (PLC) for each student. The PLC, presented in an easy-to-understand Excel format, helps us identify strengths and areas for improvement. We focus on topics marked in red or orange, revisiting and retesting them until they turn green or purple. This proven method has significantly improved performance and confidence for many of my students, and I'm confident it can do the same for you.
