I am an experienced tutor who specialises in “different” children who are struggling for some reason, think they are failures, or generally aren’t doing as well as could be expected. My curiosity and empathy allow my students not only to see me as a their tutor, but also as an emotional support, a mentor, and someone who genuinely has their development as a happy, rounded person at heart. The depth of experience and commitment I bring to finding each student’s unique gifts and engaging their curiosity and joy in learning are reflected in the cost, though I aim to stay accessible to all. I dig deep to find solutions for each child individually, and I do this with compassion, positivity and care.

I find that parents play a key role in the self-confidence and ability to achieve of any child, and therefore I like to include them as much as they feel they can to support the child. Under some circumstances working with the parent separately on particular tools to support the child emotionally and mentally is very helpful. As a parent you can request this at any point, and I may also suggest it. There is never any obligation. Sometimes just one session goes a long way.

I am also a craniosacral and family therapist, and have been solving “incurable” issues for children and parents for over 30 years. I am trained in trauma therapy, high sensitivity and family constellation. I have worked with a variety of special needs children from ADHD, Tourette’s, Aspergers and shyness to High Sensitivity and Giftedness. I haven’t yet had a child who couldn’t learn, and nearly all have gone on to get A grades to the shock of teachers who had dismissed them as hopeless. I feel strongly that all children can learn and my track record shows this.

Online tutoring is becoming very popular as movement and contact is restricted. It’s practical and works almost the same way as in-person tutoring. I am an unsusual resource in that i am equally at home with teaching sciences and languages so i can cover a broad range of subjects with your child.

and currently live on an organic farm that I run. I have a passion for nature, different kinds of people, travel and dancing. I became a tutor because I failed maths when I was 9 and found out how to teach myself. From age 14 on I have always had students.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring for well over 30 years. I used to work as a regular tutor for Top Tutors in London and now work independently.

I have been referred many troubled children who were set to fail. They have all gone on to get A grades, some of them even sitting exams one or two years early.

I am very familiar with the English GCSE and A level system, having taken Biology Chemistry Physics & Spanish A level myself. However I have tutored children from all over the world including Asia, USA and Australia, and can adapt myself to any curriculum.

Tutoring Approach

I meet each child where they are right now, emotionally and academically and work to encourage their learning curiousity and confident sense of self. I am experienced in working with ADHD, Tourette's, high sensitivity (often looks like shyness) high functioning Asperger's and other difficult behaviours. I don't work with labels though, i find that children recover faster when we focus on solving things and increasing confidence. I bring my training as a trauma therapist to the tutoring lessons in a super effective way.

I make learning fun and start with what your child is interested in. I live on my own organic farm, so i can bring real live samples of plants and animals to the screen for biology lessons. Wherever possible i bring things to life with practical applications!

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy, and a one-month discontinuation policy either side if tuition is terminated.
