Mike did an excellent job of raising my daughter's A level science grades by 2 grades (E to C). As well as having ADHD which made it hard for her to focus and retain knowledge, she had also missed a fair amount of foundation knowledge at GCSE level due to ill health, so there were real challenges there. The improved grades were a real achievement for everybody. I am using him again to help my son with his GCSE Maths and Science. Mike was really kind, patient and supportive and I cannot recommend him enough.

Mike is an outstanding tutor, very easy to get on and connect with, he explains everything well and finds a method to work mathematics out that best suits you. Mike struck up a rapport with my daughter quickly and she has enjoyed learning with him, which is no mean feat as she is very fussy about teachers. Her confidence has grown so much that she has moved up a set and now knows she is very capable in Maths. Mike is a calming influence and I was impressed and grateful for his knowledge of syllabuses and his ability to aim the lessons where most needed. My daughter no longer needs Maths tutorials as she has 'caught up' and is now steaming ahead. She wants to do some extra work in sciences for her GCSE's and so has chosen to have some extra lessons with Mike during the summer holidays to cover the topics she wants help with. My daughter has dyslexia and Mike has excellent understanding of this and was able to tailor the learning style to meet her needs. Thanks v much Mike!

My daughter enjoys her tuition with Mike. He is calming and thinks outside the box so everything is clearer for her. She has a 2 hour block session and thought how on earth could she cope with concentrating for that long but time flies by. She is always amazed at how enjoyable it is and is getting her head around these subjects. We are very happy with Mike and would highly recommend him.

Mike has adjusted what and how he teaches my son to exactly what he needs and the way he learns. My son has been buzzing with enthusiasm each time Mike has left us, telling me all about what Mike has said. Very happy all round.

My daughter feels comfortable and is enjoying the tuition time. Although I had my reservations about 2 hours being too intense it is working well as the subjects of maths, physics and chemistry are dipped in and out of. So all very positive so far and Hannah is going into the relevant lessons in school feeling confident in her ability to learn, which is great.Good communication so as parents we are clear on what is happening and the friendly but professional attitude is spot on.Well done !

My son didn't think he needed any help in the beginning and now he finds Mike's help invaluable. It gives my son so much confidence knowing he has weekly back up and someone to turn to for an explanation about things. Mike has helped my son's confidence a lot and as a parent I don't worry about my son's progress anymore as Mike is there to help him and my son is so much happier now as a result. Thanks Mike!

Although our son hasn't sat the relevant GCSE's yet, I can safely say that his experience working with Mike was excellent. Mike is an excellent teacher and our son feels very prepared. He had to do a bit of catching up, moving here from out of country. Mike has helped him to have the confidence needed to approach his GCSE's.

Mike, was extremely helpful, he drove further than I expected to come and tutor Peter and at times convenient to us. Peter enjoyed his tuition and said he absorbed loads. Mike was also able to give him some good tips on studying medicine.

We are hoping to use Mike's services again over the next two years as Peter prepares for As and A levels.

Mike worked well with my Son in the lead up to his Chemistry A2 exams. He was flexible with availability and generally kept up with marking between sessions. I would recommend Mike to anyone who needs a grade boost.

Mike worked with Cameron for just over a year as he was really struggling to get a C Grade at his Maths GSCE. Mike built up a great relationship with Cameron and helped with his confidence. He is extremely patient and provided Cameron with a strong structure on which to build his revision. Cameron gained a C Grade in February this year, a huge relief as he didn't then have to re-take Maths along with the rest of his GSCE's in June. I would recommend Mike, he is reliable, pleasant and very competent at what he does.

Mike helped our 13 year old get back on track with her maths. He was patient and our daughter felt comfortable with him.

Mike has been helping my son with revising and preparation for his GCSE's next year for all three sciences - we have seen a marked improvement in his work already and he is more confident in these subjects.

Keeping two teenagers enthusiastic to learn maths is not easy particularly at the end of a week's school - Mike is doing this. Mike is managing to work well and is tailoring content to each need.

Mike has made a noticeable difference to our son's understanding and confidence in maths at the GCSE level, so much so that his maths Teacher at school has upgraded his expectation of the grade he will achieve, this will allow him to attain the required maths grade for the College courses he would like to pursue.

This has been achieved in a relative short space of time. Mike has a very nurturing / mild manner in his approach and this has greatly improved our son's confidence, which has lead to a better understanding and grasp of the core principles in this subject.

Mike was an excellent choice of tutor. He was just what my daughter needed, someone to answer complex A level questions in Chemistry. He was spot on and knew all the answers without requiring to go away and research. I would definitely recommend him. He is polite, reliable and punctual. We had him visit for 1 hour a day over 10 days and he has certainly raised my daughters grades through a friendly and knowledgeable approach. he also offered follow up support if required which we will definitely take him up on when required. I had Mike help me for A level in Biology & Maths both at AS & A2 (currently). I took resists this January just gone in both my Biology units from last year where I achieved an E & D respectively. Since Mike's tuition I went from these two grades to achieving 2 A grades in these units. In maths I also retook a statistics module which he also helped me with. I went from a D to a B. Mike is great because he is easy to get along with and very understanding.

We contacted Mike to provide help to our son with retaking his AS physics exam. He seems to be very thorough in his approach and is giving him much needed confidence. In fact, we were so impressed with the change in attitude, we have also asked Mike to help with his A2 Chemistry exams.

Mike helps to our daughter with Physics, Math and Biology. As a result she passed already several subjects. She is very happy with Mike's teaching and explanation. When, because of some circumstances, we were short of time, Mike did everything to ajust his time for us. Definitely recommend Mike to everyone.

We've had 3 tutoring sessions to date and have been very pleased so far. Sam is at ease with him and feels that his understanding of the subjects is improving.

Mike''s calm and friendly manner is exactly what our son needed. Not only has he helped make clear improvements, but not once has there been any moaning about having to do 'extra maths' - I think this is because Mike approaches the lessons like a friend whi has come to help, and not as a 'tutor'.
We originally took Mike on for a few weeks, but are so happy with the support that he has given that we are keeping the lessons going.
He is a very nice and very understanding man-exactly what we needed.

I am very pleased with Mike, he has a very easy going attitude that encourages you to have a go without the fear of getting it wrong, he is very good at putting complex mathamatical theories in simpler terms. Initially taken on to help me with my HNC assignments I have asked him to take me through the GCSE higher level.

Mike tutored our son through his GCSE's across maths, physics and biology and I'm delighted to say our son achieved all three. Mike has a very easy and patient approach and was a key factor in our sOns success. He is now helping our daughter through maths and all 3 science GCSE's. Both our children really enjoyed working with Mike and I would certainly recommend him as a tutor.

Mike tutored our daughter for GCSE Maths for over a year and was successful in helping her to achieve a Grade C pass - when she had been struggling. Mike formed a really good rapport with our daughter. He was flexible and helpful re times of tuition, including providing extra sessions in the run up to exams. He was also a good source of advice about other resources we could get for our daughter to use between sessions. Mike is also a very friendly person who it was a pleasure to welcome into our home. We would certainly recommend him to anyone.

Great help going through each topic/exam question and breaking it down into parts to learn and answer. Good confidence builder and help with Biology too in the same manner.

Mike's relaxed but focussed attitude gained harry's respect early on, and they have done some good work together. Mike soon identified some important gaps in his knowledge and they were able to tackle them effectively.
We await Harry's AS results!… We will use Mike again in the lead up to A levels. RECOMMENDED.

Only had a few sessions before my exam, but a great help!

A very nice person, who has a calm and patient approach. My son finds his sessions with Mike helpful and encouraging.

Mike was very good at striking up a rapport with my son and the lessons were fun and engaging. My son went on to pass his exam and gain a place at the Grammar school. I would recommend Mike to anybody with sons wanting to improve their science knowledge.

I have used your service with 2 other tutors and found it to be absolutely brilliant. I was hoping to get Mike to help my son and have heard very little - I would rather him be honest than say he could help and not make contact. I am very disappointed as we needed help with resits (October & November) and everyday they loom ever closer. His contact details were a total waste of money.

Mike has given my son more confidence with his As biology, although we didn't meet up until a few weeks before the exams. I hope that we will continue in the Autumn to see my son through his A2! Pleasant and able to connect with J. Thank you, Mike.

We have had three visits from Mike so far. He is a really nice person and our son gets on well with him. He seems to tutor brilliantly and is helping our son with both Maths and Science GCSE. Our son has just taken modules in both subjects and although Mike has only had three visits we think he has been of great benefit. Highly recommended.

Really great. Lovely person and works well with my daughter. Seems to be able to get through to my daughter and she can understand and remember the work.

In just 2-3 2 hour sessions Mike has helped our daughter to improve her confidence in Maths, and also in Sciences. So much so that she opted to take a Higher Level paper in Maths, having been condemned to the foundation level by her teacher, and achieved a C grade even though she has covered less than 50% of the necessary course. Mike will continue to support her until the final exams next year.
He is pleasant and reliable, and has formed a strong bond with her very quickly.
