Michal

I hold a PhD degree in Physics from the University of Edinburgh. I graduated, also from the University of Edinburgh, with Master of Arts in Philosophy and Physics (First Class Honours). I am a scientist and a science communicator.

Tutoring Experience

In 2010, I became a Teaching Assistant at the University of Edinburgh and started to tutor mathematics and different subjects in physics. I am also responsible for the lecture demonstrations for the third year physics students.

Since 2010, my students nominated me in five consecutive years for "Best Postgraduate Tutor" under the auspices of the Edinburgh University Students' Association.

Since 2015, I lecture, supervise and tutor at the Summer School organised by ADAMED SmartUP, Warsaw, Poland.

Additionally, I have a seven-year experience as a private tutor (outside the university) in Mathematics and Physics both at the Advanced Highers/A-level and GSCE levels. I also helped my pupils with the UCAS application. Finally, I am a demonstrator at the University Open Day and also in the science club at the local school in Edinburgh.

Tutoring Approach

I am a very patient open-minded teacher and always try different approaches to problem solving. I attempt to decompose complex tasks into a set of smaller ones which are easier to understand. By introducing simple questions to my pupils I try to build up an overall understanding of the subject. This approach is of a great value in scientific subjects. Furthermore, I think my enthusiasm will stimulate and inspire my tutee.
