Michael's Feedback

Michael has been fantastic so far with my daughter's science tuition. His preperation and diligence in creating relevant materials for lessons have been so useful and beneficial. He is patient and extremely capable at providing simple explanations to complex topics and concepts. I am very grateful for his expertise and his kind and gentle nature. My year 10 daughter is already far more engaged with the subject and has shown tangible improvements in a short time frame.

We are so glad to have Michael as a tutor. He is amazing at teaching and puts so much effort into making sure our daughter understands what he is teaching. I would definitely recommend him!

Mike is a fantastic tutor. Mike takes time to find out exactly what is needed and matches the learning style to the pupil. Mike is currently working with my son for A Level biology. I can’t thank Mike enough for all his time commitment and energy to this and my son is really enjoying the subject now thanks to Mike .

After initial contact with Michael. Michael advises that he can not travel to our home due to distance and traffic. He also suggested oneline sessions which we have previously tried but didn’t work for my son. We therefore, decided not to go a head, and stared to look for another tutor who can provide face to face session. I must not forget to say that Micheal has been very polite throughout the interaction with him. But the only disappointment was he couldn’t travel to our address at the chosen time for the face to face session.

Mike has been highly committed to providing the best possible support under difficult circumstances.

Mike is friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. He uses a wide range of resources to support the specific learning needs for each lesson. My daughter has found him a great help and he has made sessions interesting and rewarding, plus her grades have improved. The internet platform works well and has enabled sessions to continue through the COVID lockdown weeks. All round a big thank you!

Michael took time to understand how my son learns and understands. As a result, he finally started to enjoy learning about chemistry (in his second year of GCSEs) and to demonstrate understanding of areas he always thought were too complicated.

Tutor doesn’t have suitable background

Michael is excellent tutor! He could simplify the complex physics concept that my daughter is looking forward to exploring more! We hope to have many more lessons with Michael to take our understanding to new levels.

I am extremely impressed with Mike He’s given my A level biology student daughter so much encouragement; he has helped her look at exam questions in a different way. My daughter comes back from the tutor sessions on a real high wanting to explain it all to me (another good way to learn… ). She had a test this week and was so pleased because as Mike has told her, she can apply knowledge from one area to use in another question and ‘it all links together’… so the test went better than before.
Mike uses novel learning methods (paper DIY models of membrane structure / processes) which make complicated topics like photosynthesis understandable. He is clearly v knowledgeable about the exam structure and marking scheme- and this has also proven useful.
My daughter was slightly hesitant about the idea of a tutor but she is extremely positive about Mike.

I am so pleased that we found Mike - it was difficult finding a mutually convenient tutor time (he is popular!) but we didn’t give up (I feel he genuinely wants to help students) and found a fit eventually.

And another thing - he responds to emails promptly!

Mike is a brilliant tutor. He is helping with our daughter's GCSE chemistry. He has a lifted the fog on many of the topics she's been struggling with and we got great results in year 10 mock exams. The sessions with Mike are very informal and student participation plays a big part. Our daughters confidence in the subject has grown significantly and we'll continue with more lessons in year 11.

Mike helped my son who has just his GCSE syllabus with some chemistry topics that he had not understood in class. Mike immediately grasped what kind of support Robert needed and how to get through to him. Mike is clearly hugely experienced and has a wealth of practice material to draw on. He ended up doing better in his chemistry end of year exam than his other sciences even though before it had been the weakest of the 3. We will definitely be asking Mike to help Robert over the next two years with all his sciences. Thank you Mike!

Michael is an excellent tutor. Calmed everyone down and really focused in on the important stuff at a stressful time. Highly organised and efficient and extremely knowledgable and competent teacher. My daughter needed help with A Level Biology.

Michael is a wonderful tutor, he has been accommodating with regards to scheduling and is very responsive to our tutoring needs. We were looking for a tutor who could help my niece translate her good class work into equally good exam results. Michael has been excellent in demystifying the process of preparing for and taking exams. He gives useful, actionable feedback; helps with test taking strategies and techniques; and is enjoyable to work with.

Sam and I would like to say thank you. Your no nonsense and straight talking approach did work well with Sam. You also took note of his interests and was able to use that information when explaining topics he did not understand which really helped. You very quickly assessed Sam’s strengths and weaknesses and how to get him to work effectively. You gave Sam the confidence to sit the exams and achieve. We would not hesitate to recommend you to anybody feeling their children needed support and tuition in their study of science.

My son has received tuition form Mike for GCSE Biology and now A Level Biology.
He was predicted a C at GCSE by school and actually got an A with Mike's help. He's currently studying A level Biology and says Mike's explanations are excellent. Mike puts a lot of time and thought into how to explain concepts and processes; he uses models, illustrations and clear examples to communicate difficult areas effectively. His enthusiasm is infectious and his exam tips have proved invaluable. Highly recommend.

Michael has made a great start to tutoring my daughter and a friend for their Science GCSE. It is good that he is flexible and will teach both together or singly. He has helped my daughter get 'back to basics' and grow in confidence. All good so far!

My son is three weeks into tuition with Michael. He has made a very good start and I am pleased with early progress. My son is extremely comfortable with his teaching approach and seems to be benefiting from this already.
