Hello,
My name is Megan Cunningham I am a third year university student currently studying Drama Applied Theatre and Education, next year I aspire to start my PGCE in English with Drama so I can subsequently become a secondary school teacher. I have always enjoyed studying and relish the opportunity to help others with theirs. I am an avid reader and enjoy theatre and film. I look forward to meeting you.

Tutoring Experience

I worked for the Extra Tuition Centre from October 2016- October 2017. Tutoring children aged 6-16 ranging from 11+ tuition to GCSE Maths and English. I returned to work for this company for their week long 11+ crash courses during Easter 2018 and Summer 2018.

This year I began private tuition, I tutored a student for GCSE English Literature and Language. When I began our tuition he started at a level 2/3 however I am pleased to say he achieved a grade 6 (a high B) for his final GCSE grade.

I am currently tutoring a student for his Alevel film exam. Despite not studying it at Alevel myself, film is a passion of mine and I am helping mainly with essay structure. I also helped tutor this particular student with GCSE English as well.

Tutoring Approach

My personal tutoring approach is one to one tuition where I ask the student what in particular they would like to focus on. I will then create a plan in order to study each book (or topic) in detail. In terms of English Literature I usually go through each book and focus on characters, themes, quotes and structure. I then move on essay structure. I have a very similar approach with poetry.

I am a friendly yet professional tutor and I pride myself on creating an enthusiastic and positive environment that encourages study.
