Hi! I'm Meera and my subject speciality is Biological Sciences my interests in which began in school and extended through to university, as evidenced by completing an undergraduate degree and Masters in this field. I understand that, although Biology can be incredibly fascinating, it does encompass challenging concepts, which I am happy to provide support in. I'm a positive and motivated individual who gains a sense of achievement by helping others, particularly students who continuously face educational pressures - I've been in this situation and am willing to help.

Tutoring Experience

During my masters, I worked part time as an Academic Support Ambassador (tutor) for A-Level and GCSE Biology students at a local school and college which I throughly enjoyed. Here, I delivered support to students by explaining concepts clearly and enthusiastically as well as providing guidance on how to plan and structure answers to exam questions. This was achieved with the hope of helping student's progression and confidence within the subject.

Tutoring Approach

As a positive and encouraging person, I believe that the right attitude is important when it comes to learning. I'm a visual learner, as are most students, meaning that I enjoy using diagrams, posters, powerpoints and acronyms to facilitate my own learning and this is reflected during tuition too. Communication is key in tuition; students should feel comfortable voicing their concerns with the subject so that we can actively overcome them, but I am also happy to go through topics that they may already understand well, should they want the extra revision. Ideally, I would like students to tell me in advance what topics they would like to focus on so that I can prepare the relevant materials and exam equations for this, allowing the sessions to be delivered to the best quality!
