I am an undergraduate Chemical Engineering student at Loughborough University, who completed the IB program at Bexley Grammar School in 2024. Some of my hobbies include reading, learning new languages (Spanish particularly), and sports, such as running and cheerleading!
I have previous experience tutoring GCSE Maths (foundation and higher), as well as IB higher Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Every one of my students has experienced a drastic increase in grades (for example, one of my past GCSE Higher Maths students went from a grade 5/C to a grade 8/A* in just 4 months of tutoring) as well as confidence in their chosen subject.
My teaching approach is to first cover any content that my student is unsure about, explaining it in way adapted to them and their preferred learning style. Then, I like to help them answer past paper / exam style questions, enabling my student to develop a method for each type of question they may encounter in their final exams. Then, I set my student further questions to try by themself, which I will go through alongside a model solution in our following session. My students often find me more relatable and less intimidating due to me being younger and having recently experienced the exams that they are going to sit, therefore being more familiar with the current exam layout and how to answer each style of question. My aim is to leave my students feeling confident in every area of the subject, leading them to feel calm and collected during their exam.
