Hi, I'm Matthew, a recent Cambridge Maths graduate. I've been very enthusiastic about maths for a long time, and this helped me to get excellent grades throughout school and university, obtaining 2 A*s in A-level Maths and Further Maths, excellent grades in STEP (the Cambridge maths admissions test), and a First Class in my undergraduate degree. However, I still remember the difficulties I faced while learning through school and university, and really want to help students along this journey. Outside of more academic pursuits, I've always loved playing tennis, and played regularly in the university teams.
During school and university, I was always enjoyed helping my peers and explaining concepts clearly to them. During sixth form, I also taught my further maths class two lessons on group theory, a topic beyond our school syllabus, then went back as an undergraduate to do similarly for the further maths class at the time.
My goal is to help students build a deep understanding of the subject and to enjoy solving problems. I believe this is the best way to prepare for the more challenging exam questions. I aim to make lessons fun, engaging, and tailored to each individual student, so they gain confidence, results, and enjoyment.
