I'm Emmy - a non-binary Maths tutor. I use they/them pronouns. I have a PGCE and QTS in Secondary Mathematics
I'm a University of Nottingham business school, and education school graduate, based in Beeston, offering KS2, KS3, GCSE, and A-level tutoring.
Native to rural North Wales, I live have lived in Beeston, Nottingham since 2016 - prepared to travel locally, have students visit me at home, or teach online.
I'm friendly, approachable, and professional with a current advanced DBS check.
Looking forward to getting into contact and setting up a lesson plan! I take my tea with lots of milk and no sugar. Ta very much.
I'm a qualified teacher as of 2021. I have countless hours of classroom teaching experience for a range of ages and ability groups.
In academic year 21/22 I worked with pupil premium students as an intervention mentor.
I've been working full-time as a tutor since 2022.
As a young and recently qualified teacher, I'm up-to-date on education literature and very progressive in my approach to teaching practice. Designing interesting and engaging mathematics tasks and problems that can be approached by a range of abilities is the key to helping maths stick.
In addition, small, incremental steps to learning as well as frequent recall to previous topics help students to develop into capable mathematicians.
I'm as relaxed and approachable in one on one tutoring as I am in the classroom. Always happy to smile and have a laugh when I'm teaching.
In addition to learning the core curriculum and the wider theory around maths, I'm more than happy to work with students with Exam technique and revision sessions.
