I am from Australia originally, now living and working in Cheltenham as an Economics & Business Teacher for a high performing Comprehensive. I am passionate about Economics & Business at all levels and love to instill the same passion from my students.
8th Year as a teacher
4 Years teaching Economics at A level and GCSE
2 Years teaching Business at A Level and GCSE
I take a highly personable approach to teaching and learning, especially tutoring. The one to one mode gives us more opportunities to diagnose gaps and ensure that the student knows what they don't know and allows us to address those issues.
Ensuring that my students always understand the concepts in economics before getting into the details is important as I find that a relatively technical subject such as Economics can be easy for students to get lost in and ultimately end up spending time learning things that aren't as important.
Finally, a strong connection between the syllabus and the real world is something that I not only think is vital to communicate when teaching economics but also is vital to both demystifying the world around us and crucial to achieve the highest grades in exams.
