Matilda

My name's Matilda and I'm 22. I have just finished an undergraduate degree in sociology with criminology at the University of Sheffield, and I am about to start a postgrad in criminology at the university of Manchester. I primarily teach english language and literature at GCSE level, but I am able to provide support for geography, psychology and sociology as well.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring english language and literature at GCSE level for the last 4 years. I primarily work with people aged 11-16, but I have also worked with A Level students as well. I am familiar with a range of exams specs, particularly AQA, Educas, Edexcel and OCR.

Tutoring Approach

I privately tutor online using zoom typically. I use a range of comprehension worksheets and past exam papers to help familiarise students with the exam structure and what will be expected of them. I help students to expand on their own ideas within their writing, and encourage them to articulate their own interpretations of texts and questions. I help students with their paragraph structures and subject terminology, and aid them in developing writing and verbal skills which will help them not just in exams but in the future as well.
