INTERVIEW SKILLS TRAINING for students sitting 8+, 11+, 13+ Entrance. College/University/Apprenticeship interviews. Please note that I am not offering academic tutoring for entrance exams.
These days the majority of private secondary schools will expect your child to attend an interview. What sort of questions can they expect? How can you help to prepare them? I have helped prepare hundreds of children in the SW London area to deal with not just the obvious questions but the tricky ones too. I can’t tell them what to say, but I can help them how to say it.
As an experienced interview trainer (CRB checked) I can provide your child with an hour long role play practice session (this can include mental maths and/or comprehension questions, if required). The training will help boost your child’s confidence and only one or two sessions are usually necessary. A full verbal assessment will be given to both parent and child along with a personalised reminder sheet at the end. I have helped both boys and girls prepare for interviews at some of the UK’s leading schools such as Eton, St. Paul’s, LEH, KCS, Charterhouse, Hampton Boys and the London School of Music.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a media trainer for 19 years and an interview trainer for 9 years. I am based in SW14.

Tutoring Approach

My main priority is to give children the tools to be able to express themselves effectively, whether that be talking about sporting acievements or their hobbies. I help to demystify the whole process so that the children feel confident rather than anxious. We also conduct a useful exercise where the children decide on what they want to say about themselves. So for example, does the school need to know that they studied the recorder for one term? Or that they've been a member of the choir for three years and will be singing to raise money for charity this Christmas? So even if they're already a confident speaker, clarifying their key messages will help them to shine!
