Bonjour! Hello! Do you need to boost your grades, increase your confidence and learn to communicate effectively in French or English? If so, I would love to help!
I am a highly experienced secondary and sixth form French and EFL teacher with a background in teaching adults and teacher training too. I am a native English speaker and am fluent in French, having lived and worked in France for two years. I have two language teaching qualifications (PGCE and CELTA) and also have a BA (Hons) and a Master's in French. Together with my training and experience, I have found that the strategies and knowledge I acquired learning French have given me extra insight into successful language learning. Whatever your needs, I would be delighted to share my skills to guide you on a rewarding learning journey.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 20 years’ experience teaching secondary French and English as a Foreign Language (Years 7-11) and A-level French (Years 12-13), as well as private French and EFL tuition to professional adults, secondary and post-secondary students. I have successfully coached students in French up to A-level and for DELF A1 and A2 exams and in EFL for Cambridge KET, PET and FCE exams with a 100% pass rate. Since obtaining my Master's in French, as a part-time lecturer, I have been involved in post-graduate MFL teacher training, specialising in methodology and currently lecture in the French language at university and in Adult Education. I use my skills and experience to engage and motivate students and help them realise their full potential.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

Tutoring Approach

I am patient, encouraging and very enthusiastic, and my students often say that my help has made all the difference in achieving better grades. I work hard at building a positive rapport so that we can focus together on attaining your personal learning goals. We will discuss these in detail in the first lesson and then each lesson will be individually tailored to your needs. I use a range of practice activities to build up confidence communicating in the language and to boost grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation skills. I will also share useful tips and strategies to improve your performance. Above all, you can expect to be challenged to achieve your best but also to have fun in the process!
