Maria's Feedback

Maria was an excellent maths and English tutor for our son. This is in terms of both preparation for his 11+ exams as well as in general; helping him build the foundations not properly made due to COVID lockdowns and reinforcing trickier concepts learned at school more recently.

Maria's expertise came from the fun teaching methods that she used, bringing difficult or dull concepts to life through pictorial depiction and games in a manner that our son could easily relate to. Her approach was flexible, always checking with our son what he had done at school that week so she could base the content of her lesson around that. He always looked forward to Maria's visits and stayed engaged throughout the session.

Our son is dyslexic and Maria was quick to spot this, highlighting ways in which this was obvious to her and helpfully suggesting some further measures that we could potentially take.

I'd be very happy to recommend Maria to anyone looking for a tutor for their child.

Maria was an excellent tutor for my daughter's maths GCSE.
She seemed to have a lesson for every problem at her fingertips so which ever direction my daughter wanted to take the lesson she was prepared.

UPDATE Maria has now been tutoring my son for 2 years. I am pleased to say, not only did he pass the 11+ exams, but recieved countless offers from independent schools. He has been consistently scored 'Greater Depth' in all subjects at school, however the best part is that he actually enjoys the tutoring lessons and looks forward to them. Her sessions are well thought out, focused and challenging. Her explainations are understandable and if not, she is not short of new approaches to help understanding. I would highly recommend her, not just for 11+, but ongoing. She will keep you ahead of the rest.

Feedback given: sept 2021: Maria had an initial lesson with my son who is 9. He really enjoyed her lesson and found her teaching methods very easy to remember what he was taught. She’s patient and very clear with explaining things in such a way they remain memorable.

Maria tutored our son for 11+, principally in Maths but also in some aspects of English. She was excellent at engaging him and explaining clearly anything which he had trouble with. Maria is extremely professional - she is always well organised, polite and punctual and is a pleasure to deal with. My daughter was struggling in particular with maths after the disruption of multiple lockdowns, and finding home learning challenging. Maria helped her understand some mathematical concepts which she had previously struggled with, in particular long division.

More importantly perhaps she helped significantly with her confidence and her approach towards remote learning and she provided invaluable support at a time when it was very much needed.

Maria has been tutoring my 15 year old daughter for over two months with Maths. She’s a great tutor, focuses on exactly what’s needed, and provides clear progress feedback after each session. Maria is a very calm and patient tutor who is extremely flexible and adapts her teaching methods to suit my daughters different learning styles. She is also very efficient and sends a weekly email providing a summary of each session, positive feedback, areas to work on and any homework set. She also does Skype lessons which my daughter says are interesting and interactive. I would thoroughly recommend Maria.

Maria is a very dedicated teacher and helped my son greatly in NVR. She made difficult areas easy and also is very diligent. Her follow up emails after the class are very helpful for me as a parent to know what areas the child covered and how did they do.
