I have a BSc in Mathematics, and a PGCE teaching certificate in Secondary Mathematics.

I live in Central Manchester, and work in the South so am able to offer tuition in any of these areas.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching in state secondary schools for the past 8 years, in which time I have recently been rated good with outstanding features.

I have had experience with teaching GCSE and ALevel maths, across Edexcel and AQA exam boards.

I have taught a variety of students across different nationalities and abilities.

Tutoring Approach

Tuition is very helpful for the majority of students.

It helps students to build confidence in their mathematical ability, and also to clear up any misconceptions that may have developed at school.

I believe that tuition works best when student and tutor work together; firstly identifying problem areas and then working through them systematically. Also we can deal with the root of misunderstanding, and not just how we answer a question.

With the new GCSE and A Level specifications it is very important that students give themselves the best opportunity to succeed. With exposure to a variety of exam questions and a thorough understanding of the topics they can give themselves the best chances to gain the top grades. I work hard to increase students confidence in mathematics so that they are equipped to solve problems by themselves in the exams.
