I am 47 years old, a father of two girls aged 21 & 18. I have worked in Primary & Secondary settings and overseas in a private setting.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 22 years of Primary & Secondary teaching experience. I have also tutored extensively for over 10 years supporting pupils in Maths & English up to GCSE.

Tutoring Approach

I prefer to start with a conversation with the student about the areas they typically find challenging so that I can support them in the most efficient way. I would then carry out some simple diagnostic tasks to determine whether they need to consolidate any declarative or procedural knowledge. We would then work through tasks together, using worked examples until they were at a point where they could tackle the work independently.
