Optometry graduate, Aston University. I achieved 7A*s and 6As at GCSE and I would like to share my knowledge and ways of learning with others. My best qualities are being open-minded and persistent. Doing four different a-levels allows me to understand different subjects and achieving A*, A, B, B In Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Biology. I am an outgoing, confident pursuer of learning; I read wide ranges of literature form Robert Greene to Machiavelli. My spare time, involves taking time to climb mountains, like completing the 3 peaks challenge. I enjoy thinking about Mathematics and English as joint concepts and like to think holistically in a whole manner of learning. I like to tutor students, as it teaches me, more about me, too. I have a Youtube channel, where I VLOG, and document my learning, and try to get my hands on new material all of the time, keeping my views current and optimal.
have worked under Tutorful, teaching wide ranges of students from primary school ages to GCSE level. I have taught children and older students from a wide and diverse range of backgrounds. I am a STEM ambassador and have mentored students from different backgrounds at different schools. I have have mentored other University students under my subject, optometry at Aston university.
I can tutor closely with one-to-one work, as well as distance learning via online. I can sit with pupils for a long time, focusing on core subjects and core principles; then I can, also, briefly go through a wider branch of learning including, testing over a wide of topics, in summary. A balance of brief learning and persistent learning is key. I can work with almost anyone, as long as they are willing to learn, which most people are. I am open-minded to pupils' ways of thinking and I am flexible around how they learn best. my structure can also be rigid, as consistency is key to learning and constant sessions and repetitive learning is important, in some subjects and exercises for memory. However student learn differently and I would work on what they find most difficult, firstly as most of the time, this is avoided. Then I would make sure the students can cover the whole subject conclusively and to a good standard, or improvement on their original attempts. If the student is trying to improve from a really low level, then I would start with the basics and not try to rush them. Learning takes time, and it is important to make sure it is done correctly.
