I'm an approachable and thoughtful History and Politics teacher.
Specialising in History and Government and Politics my teaching experience over the last ten years has also covered a range of other subjects within humanities. Having taught KS3 - KS5 in both Good and Outstanding schools, I have developed the ability to relate pupils' learning to their interests and skills.
I work as an examiner so am adept at translating mark schemes and teaching pupils how to craft high level responses. I have taught and attended training courses for the main examining bodies i.e AQA, Edexcel and OCR.
I currently teach History and Politics at an outstanding school in the South West.
My goal is to enable pupils to reach their full potential by removing any barriers they may have to their learning. This can be as simple as making some topics more memorable through song or teaching memorisation techniques that make abstract concepts or important events stick in your mind. Some students simply need learn how to revise and approach their studies in an organised manner.
There are a wide range of learning methods to enable pupils to understand topics and develop the ability to articulate their thoughts using appropriate exam technique. I prepare flexibly so we can easily change our approach if necessary.
