I have 10 years experience teaching history and politics, in addition to individual tutoring. I'm a passionate advocate for education and truly love my job. My enthusiasm for my subjects is regularly commented upon and I have a track record of helping students achieve their potential. No matter whether your son/daughter has Oxbridge aspirations or simply needs help to pass their GCSE, I will bring a love of learning, a diligent and empathetic approach to teaching and a caring environment where each student can achieve their potential.

Tutoring Experience

10 years experience teaching both History and Politics in a range of teaching environments including state, private and international schools. Examiner for various exam boards including Edexcel and CIE. Roles have included Head of Department and currently as Head of Year 7 at a long established and successful Grammar School.

Tutoring Approach

I pride myself on a caring, empathetic and enthusiastic approach to teaching both history and politics. I truly love the subjects and this has consistently been commented upon by students, parents and staff alike. My teaching philosophy is underpinned by the appreciation that no two students have the same learning experience and thereby, my tutoring sessions are tailor-made to each student. I have 10 years of tutoring experience and am very proud of the results which have come from the classroom and with individual clients. Each session will involve exam practice, knowledge retention, revision techniques and a diligent approach to making each student feel comfortable in their own abilities.

Work outside of the sessions will regularly be set as a benchmark of how the student is progressing. This work will be marked by me (at no extra cost) and feedback provided to students in preparation of the next session.
