I am an experienced English secondary school teacher, having taught at two leading independent schools in the UK, and have taught every level of confidence from reluctant learners in English, all the way through to preparing top Sixth Formers for successful Oxbridge entry. My favourite part of the job is enthusing learners of all ages about literature, helping them to learn practical skills, and the 'feel good' factor of seeing their amazing progress.

I have recently started connecting outstanding British tutors with ambitious international students via my tuition employment business, BritTutors.

I am friendly and approachable, being very experienced working with tutees, but in order to ensure that we are a 'good fit' and the young person feels confident, I suggest a short call prior to organising tuition. We can then spend some time getting to know each other, and make a plan of the best way forward!

Tutoring Experience

Having studied at the top university in the UK for English Literature, and receiving a First Class honours, I won a scholarship to refine my writing skills on a Broadcast Journalism Masters. Shortly afterwards, I qualified as a teacher at 'Outstanding' level. Since then, I have worked in two major independent schools, undertaking senior roles including Deputy Head of Middle School, and most recently Head of PSHE. I adore my subject but equally enjoy supporting and motivating learners, having qualified as a coach and regularly utilising these methods to help individuals achieve their potential. I love working with young people who are passionate about my subject, but equally find it enormously fulfilling supporting those who perhaps need a little more support to flourish.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to make my tutorials fun, relevant, and geared to help the individual learner achieve real success. The learner is always at the heart of everything I do, and our session will be tailored to help you with whatever you feel you would most benefit with help on.
