I have four years’ experience as a teacher and a tutor, across KS3 and KS4. I hold an undergraduate and masters degree in English Literature, both at distinction level, as well as a PGDE with qualified teacher status. I enjoy sharing my love of English with young people. Tutoring is offered via Zoom or Microsoft Teams Monday-Wednesday (5:30-8pm).

Tutoring Experience

I have four years’ experience teaching English to pupils aged 11-16 (three as a classroom teacher). In 2021, I gained QTS and hold a PGDE from Birmingham City University. I hold a masters degree in MA English Literature at distinction level, and a first-class degree in BA English Literature from the University of Leeds. In addition, I achieved an A* in English Literature at A-Level, as well as A*s (now grade 9) in both my English Language and Literature GCSEs. I have a strong academic aptitude for English, which combined with my teaching experience, makes me well-equipped to offer high-quality tuition.

Tutoring Approach

In order to be successful in English, pupils need a thorough knowledge of primary texts and exam-based practice. My tutoring will focus on building tutees confidence with relevant texts and constructing and improving written responses together. One-to-one feedback is key to securing top marks.
