I am a qualified experienced Maths teacher and Psychology graduate. Following a career in the classroom and senior leadership, I now work in teacher training and development at a Teaching School Hub. I am a lively and enthusiastic teacher with an approach that motivates my students to aim high and work hard. I am a personable individual and can relate to the stresses and difficulties that oncoming exams can bring. In my spare time I enjoy travel, fitness and dance.
I have 12 years experience teaching GCSE level Mathematics and specialise in supporting pupils to make rapid progress in their GCSE exams. I have tutored multiple pupils before with a range of goals, all of which have achieved these. I also studied Psychology at the University of Sheffield, thus have a strong knowledge base and passion for this subject area.
My experience in tutoring stretches back to when I was 17 years old, where I was a tutor at Explore Learning. After University, I trained to teach with Teach First and passed my teacher training year with a grade of Outstanding. Following commencing my career as a Maths teacher, I moved to Assistant Head of Maths, Lead Practitioner and Assistant Principal. I now lead a Teaching School Hub, which runs teacher training and development courses across Bradford and some parts of Leeds.
I take a positive and bespoke approach to tutoring. I am encouraging and support my students to achieve their goals. I look to build a trusting relationship with my students so that they can be honest about their weaknesses and mistakes as I believe this is essential for success.
I cater my tutoring to every students needs. Whether this means mirroring what is currently being taught in schools or teaching other areas requested by the student. I have a wealth of resources from my teaching experience that I can bring to sessions.
