I am an alternative education enthusiast who believes that learning should be accessible to everyone. I have a special interest in learning difficulties and disabilities, and I understand that traditional approaches to education don’t meet the needs of all learners. My passion lies in exploring and supporting inclusive, flexible learning methods that empower individuals to reach their full potential, regardless of the challenges they may face.
I have a diverse background in education and support work, beginning as an early years teacher with a focus on outdoor experiential learning. I have also worked for the local authority, where I was responsible for writing Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs). My passion for alternative, place-based education led me to run a Care Farm, offering meaningful learning experiences for individuals aged 5 to 70. In addition, I have been a Youth Worker, supporting young people through both formal and informal educational pathways.
My approach to education is rooted in inclusivity, flexibility, and real-world relevance. I believe that learning should be accessible to all and tailored to individual needs, recognising that traditional classroom models do not work for everyone. I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals with learning difficulties and disabilities, advocating for educational experiences that are empowering, meaningful, and grounded in the learner’s own context and strengths.
