I am a qualified Primary School teacher, working with children from 3-11 for over 14 years. Currently I am working as a senior leader, at a school in central London, so I have an excellent knowledge and understanding of how children learn, develop and progress across Primary School. I also have extensive knowledge of the end of Key Stage assessments, as well as an understanding of how to prepare children effectively for Secondary school. I am passionate about ensuring all children reach their full potential.
I have been teaching for 14 years in a range of different schools, I have worked with children of all ages from 3-11 within that time, both in the private and mainstream sectors. I have also worked with children as a tutor for many years, working with them to prepare for end of Key Stage tests, preparation for entrance exams and generally supporting them, filling gaps and helping them to feel more confident with their learning.
I feel it is important to get to know the pupils strengths and weaknesses in the given subject areas, whilst also understanding what they feel confident or nervous about, as this can sometimes be a barrier. From there it is about understanding where there are any gaps in learning and tailoring the sessions to them. In this way the pupil gets a truly personalised learning environment which matches their individual needs.
For this reason prior to the first session I always offer via email or phone a consultation time to discuss goals and expectations so that sessions can be tailored from the very start.
