I am a fully-qualified English Language teacher with over 20 years' classroom and online experience teaching students at every level from Beginner to Advanced.

I specialise in Business and Exam English - GCSE and have had many contracts with large international companies.

I am a Homestay teacher and I am used to tutoring students from all nationalities - living and working together.

I believe that with a warm friendly teacher you can make more progress and have a better understanding of the language in a comfortable environment.

Tutoring Experience

I am fully qualified as a TEFL instructor: Trinity TESOL and have written online EFL resources and exams for the major exam boards - Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge.
I tutor GCSE English AQA and Edexcel as well as Literature on an ongoing basis via Zoom and face to face - Covid secure.

I have tutored students for all of the major EFL examinations and have a lot of experience in exam techniques and marking. I have examined FCE CAE BEC and taught TOEFL and TOEIC extensively Trinity TESOL certificate B pass.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach consists of an assessment through friendly conversation which is then analysed in order to identify areas causing difficulty.

I like to use images and fun apps to create a stimulating environment - especially with grammar! Students are encouraged to do some self correction and join in with conversation at all times - I will not be speaking at you for 45 minutes!

We will share resources and I will set a communicative task to be completed before the next lesson.

Communicative and friendly. I have a great understanding of a lot of cultures having travelled and taught in Europe, Asia and The Americas.

I like to find out about my students interests and discuss them. I am aware of students needs and will meet them in a practical and creative way.
