I hold an MSt in English and Creative Writing with Distinction from Oxford University and a First-Class Honours degree in English from Southampton University. Over the past four years, I’ve honed my expertise as a tutor, helping students of all ages and levels improve their English and creative writing skills. My teaching experience includes working with adults, teenagers, and children in both online and in-person settings, as well as delivering engaging writing workshops to all ages.
I began tutoring in 2020 while studying for my MSt at the University of Oxford, initially working online with students preparing for 11+ and entrance exams, as well as those studying for their GCSEs. Since then, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students at many points in their academic career, including those learning English as a second language and those with SEND requirements.
Throughout my tutoring career, I have found immense satisfaction in helping students achieve their goals, whether it’s improving their grades, developing their academic skills, or building confidence in their abilities. While I specialise in English, I have covered a wide-range of essay-based subjects - even helping one student with writing long-form answers for their Economics A Level exam paper.
Creating a friendly and welcoming learning environment is central to my teaching approach, and I always work to ensure that my students feel comfortable throughout the learning process. I encourage students to see mistakes as opportunities for growth, fostering confidence and a genuine sense of achievement as they improve. By encouraging my students to share what they find most challenging or valuable, I give them an active role in their learning which helps ensure our lessons are both relevant and effective.
