I am an Associate Principal, Head of KS4 and second in department at a diverse and large secondary school in Cambridgeshire. I have been teaching for 7 years now and have also held the position of Deputy Head of Year at a secondary school in Essex. I have been limited to client numbers but am pleased I can now offer more availability alongside my teaching.
I have worked in four secondary schools in my career and held pastoral and curriculum roles: most currently I am Head of KS4 in English. I have taught and tutored extensively in the AQA GCSE exam board (covering a variety of texts) over the last 7 years. Additionally, I have taught the OCR English Language exam board for four years.
I believe it is important to understand the needs of the tutee in an initial tutoring session before finding a way to meet these needs whilst also achieving the most out of our lessons. I will build on what the tutee is currently learning but will also encourage individual thinking and learning because I consider this to be an important life skill and quality. I will offer as much help as possible for the tutee to achieve their target grades.
