After a successful career in IT I trained as a teacher around 10 years ago and have worked in schools and as a tutor face to face and online. I have taught English maths and science but my passion really is english. I love reading, the theatre and travel. I have two teenagers and two cats.
Tutoring Experience
I am a qualified and experienced teacher mainly working in primary schools. About seven years ago I moved into tutoring one to one or one to three in secondary schools and loved it!
Before teaching I worked for over 10 years in IT as a project manager which I loved. When I had my own children I moved into education and love seeing children progress and make leaps in their learning.
Tutoring Approach
My teaching approach is to get to know the child and what works for them. One to one tutoring can be intense so I like to make things fun, interactive and engaging.
