Maths and Chemistry Tuition in Leicester

Hi!
I am a science teacher, teaching students from year 7 to sixth form. Although I specialise in Biology, I also teach GCSE science (which includes chemistry and physics) to my combined and triple science classes. As a tutor, my greatest strengths are being flexible, enthusiastic, and patient.
Additionally, I also speak Romanian, and can be of extra help to students requiring science tuition that bridges the language gap.
I am based in Leicester, and able to have in-person sessions with students in the city center/university area. In order to maximise flexibility, I find it is best to conduct sessions online when students are outside of this area.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught for 3 years. Having achieved QTS, I also recently completed the additional qualification of a PGDE through TeachFirst. This compliments my first-hand teaching experience with knowledge of the most recent educational research and methodologies.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach can be dictated by students and parents. As a fairly young teacher, I like to take a relaxed but focused approach, allowing the development of a friendly rapport whilst also working with students on what they believe requires more improvement. However, I am also able to adopt a more classroom-teacher approach of rigour and professionalism if this is most beneficial to students.
I like to have a free 30 minute introductory session with students to work through what the key areas of improvement will be, and whether the sessions will be "taught" or based on working through exercises (or indeed a mixture of both). During this introduction we will set up a time and date for the first official paid session. If both parties are happy with the session, then students will be invited to continue booking hours. Parents wishing to keep track of student progress can specify this when booking and will be emailed a free summary after each session/week (depending on the frequency of these sessions) which shall include the content covered in the session, key strengths, areas of improvement and further recommendations.
