I am an experienced, qualified Maths teacher living in the Lewes/Uckfield area of East Sussex. I have tutored successfully in the past and now that I am semi-retired, I look forward to meeting and helping new students! I am a very confident mathematician and my colleagues would most use the words 'patient and encouraging' to describe me.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught for 25 years in a range of schools, state and independent, secondary and sixth form. In addition to numeracy, intervention and KS3, I have successfully taught many exam classes including Maths GCSE, both Foundation and Higher, and A level experience includes Pure, Statistics, Mechanics and some Further Maths.

Tutoring Approach

My starting point is to find the sticking points and misunderstandings by listening and interactive working; then finding a style or explanation that works for the individual student. Next usually comes routine and repetitious practice before applying skills to problem solving and exam-type questions.
