Private Online Psychology Tuition

I am a second year trainee clinical psychologist, studying for my doctorate in clinical psychology. I first started studying psychology at A-Level but with no intention to work in the area. I decided to study it at undergraduate level as I liked the generic skills it would offer me post graduation when seeking employment. However, when I got to university I realised that I was interested by the modules, and found it satisfying contributing to seminars, and writing essays. My interests originally developed within forensic psychology, however I have now broadened my interests in line with clinical psychology - being able to work with many different populations.

Tutoring Experience

I have provided proof reading for psychology and media students, helping particularly with structure, grammar, and critical analysis. I have also helped people write personal statements for undergraduate and doctorate level applications, as well as preparing for interviews. Due to my variety of clinical work, including working at Great Ormond Street Hospital, I have experience of adapting my work to suit individual abilities. This includes working with individuals with autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.

Tutoring Approach

I take a person centred approach, taking time to understand the learning needs of the student, alongside how they process information in order to optimise the way that we work together. I use my knowledge of cognitive assessments to help with this. I also think it is important to follow a strengths based approach, helping the student to identify their progress and their own strengths in order to boost confidence.
