Liam

Online Maths and English Tuition

I am a Full Time Private Tutor and I have graduated at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Having achieved excellent exam results and built a career in educating others, I want to use my experience to help students achieve their potential.

Tutoring Experience

Since 2017, I have worked in many roles across the educational profession, from cover supervisor to intervention teacher. I have specialised in utilising key techniques to support students with Special Education Needs and have developed important skills in making education accessible. I have worked as a tutor for 6 years, tutoring in English, Maths, and, Science to varying levels of qualification, with some students needing to boost their scores by 1 or 2 grades, to other students that needed more intensive support to boost their scores by 3-4 grades. Having attained a Masters Degree in Psychology, I have been able to apply what I studied to my tutoring methods, to allow for greater flexibility with my educational approach.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is thorough but flexible. I understand that teaching cannot be a blanket style and needs to be able to adapt, depending on the varying needs. I like to understand what stage a student is at with their academic progress, assess their strengths and weaknesses and then understand their preferred learning style, in order to make the materials more accessible, which in turn, promotes enthusiasm. I monitor progress very closely, in the form of assessments/past papers, to observe what's working and what might need adjusting.
