I am a London-based private tutor. My academic background is in Historical Musicology (Oxford University, KCL) however I have passion for tutoring English Literature, having won English awards throughout school and consistently attaining the highest results in examinations. As a TESOL-qualified teacher (acquired at Oxford International in 2013) with extensive experience in both group and 1:1 learning environments, I am also confident teaching English as a second language.
I have recently graduated with a Master of Studies in Musicology from New College, Oxford (2019) and before that, was awarded a first-class honours degree in Music from King's College London (2017). School prizegiving awards include Academic Excellence, RS, English Literature, and Music.
I work as a tutor to enable me the flexibility to manage creative projects and volunteer. I create my own podcast on contemporary classical music, work as a Director for the charity Empower Her* Voice and am the Research Manager for the political advocacy organisation Musicians' Movement.
I predominantly teach English GCSE/iGCSE level (Literature and Language), ESL, Music, and provide academic support such as interview practice, exam technique, essay writing, time management, and study skills. Currently, I am tutoring remotely via Zoom.
As well as providing 1:1 tutoring in English literature, previous experience includes several years as an ESL teacher for Eton College's summer schools and Oxford International (Greenwich), where I consistently received excellent student feedback.
I take a flexible approach to ensure each lesson is tailored to the student's needs, working towards their academic goals and learning objectives. I prepare a series of lessons with engaging material to ensure that the learning experience is both productive and enjoyable.
