I am currently completing my mathematics degree at the University of York. I have 3 years of experience tutoring maths both in person and remotely, and have loved sharing what I have learnt with children discovering maths for themselves. I am keen to continue tutoring through my university studies and help others achieve and learn to the best of their abilities. I achieved an A* and an A in maths and further maths A-levels, so have the confidence and skills required to help students move forward with their journey in maths.
At the beginning of my A-levels I was involved in one-to-one tutoring with students who were struggling with maths at my school. I tutored students from year groups 5 and 6 (SATs) up to years 10 and 11 (GCSE) with a company called Maths Masters for 2 years. At University I continue to tutor remotely with students taking their GCSE's and A-level's. For the 2023 academic year I had 9 tutees, of which 7 were taking their exams. I am well equipped to guide students through the exam season with both new study and revision, alongside important exam technique and processing tips.
I tutor online which provides me and my tutees with a great space to discuss and explore the maths they are studying. As a University undergraduate, I can be flexible with session timings and I am very easy to communicate with during the week. I aim to provide each student with a solid foundation of understanding so that they can get the best out of their studies at school. I have a bank of resources to hand, allowing me to give each student plenty of individualised practise. I am enthusiastic, friendly, patient and ready to adapt to whatever my tutee needs - I truly believe maths is a subject everyone can enjoy and I hope each student finds that during my sessions.
